Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 5.28% or 0.270 points to trade at 5.385 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.81% or 0.1700 points to end at 6.2200 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) was up 2.07% or 0.15 points to 7.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 1.56% or 0.55 points to trade at 34.73 in late trade. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 1.13% or 0.44 points to end at 38.33 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) shed 1.11% or 0.044 points to 3.936.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 69 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.34% or 0.63 to $46.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.74% or 0.79 to hit $44.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.85 to trade at $1303.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1105, while EUR/GBP fell 1.15% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 97.20.
