Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Holding Firms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Minin (PS:SCC), which rose 2.23% or 2.7000 points to trade at 123.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 2.15% or 0.150 points to end at 7.190 and Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) was up 1.11% or 30.00 points to 2740.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philex Mining (PS:PX), which fell 4.57% or 0.230 points to trade at 4.760 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 4.23% or 0.190 points to end at 4.280 and Intl Container (PS:ICT) was down 3.24% or 3.400 points to 102.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 112 to 63 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Philex Mining (PS:PX) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.57% or 0.230 to 4.760. Shares in Intl Container (PS:ICT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.24% or 3.400 to 102.000.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.40 to $1118.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.93% or 0.40 to hit $42.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.38 to trade at $48.36 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.01% to 7.2441, while USD/PHP fell 0.01% to 46.315.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.82.
