Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 3.91% or 1.690 points to trade at 44.920 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.10% or 13.390 points to end at 445.310 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 2.89% or 4.870 points to 173.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 2.31% or 0.730 points to trade at 30.900 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.13% or 5.270 points to end at 242.490 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) shed 2.01% or 0.520 points to 25.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 62 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1318.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.12 to hit $43.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.16 to trade at $45.79 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 19.8355, while EUR/MXN rose 0.53% to 22.1215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.97.
