Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.50% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which rose 3.92% or 0.248 points to trade at 6.580 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 3.87% or 0.135 points to end at 3.621 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 3.75% or 0.249 points to 6.881 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acerinox (MC:ACX), which lost 1.53% or 0.205 points to trade at 13.185 in late trade. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 1.39% or 0.113 points to end at 8.040 and Repsol (MC:REP) shed 1.16% or 0.165 points to 14.075.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 72 and 13 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.47% or 5.65 to $1203.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.70% or 1.36 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 1.34 to trade at $51.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0583, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.92.
