Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Food Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BRU:ELI), which rose 0.52% or 0.210 points to trade at 40.650 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) fell 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 25.43 and Engie SA (PARIS:ENGIE) was down 0.07% or 0.01 points to 15.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 3.62% or 0.33 points to trade at 8.74 at the close. bpost NV (BRU:BPOST) declined 1.94% or 0.42 points to end at 21.27 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was down 1.81% or 0.77 points to 41.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 104 to 49 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to all time lows; down 3.62% or 0.33 to 8.74.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.62% or 6.90 to $1102.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.50% or 1.15 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 0.86 to trade at $48.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.7348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.23.
