Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.82% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LISBON:SEM), which fell 0.12% or 0.0150 points to trade at 12.9350 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) fell 0.39% or 0.0250 points to end at 6.4260 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) was down 0.59% or 0.0600 points to 10.1350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which fell 3.17% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.5200 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 3.08% or 0.1185 points to end at 3.7315 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) was down 2.99% or 0.4050 points to 13.1250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 62 to 3 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.04% or 1.55 to $49.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 4.00% or 1.80 to hit $43.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.80 to trade at $1107.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1027, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7085.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.36.
