Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.85% or 1.210 points to trade at 66.640 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) added 1.05% or 0.505 points to end at 48.405 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 1.04% or 0.55 points to 53.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 1.40% or 1.85 points to trade at 130.50 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 0.92% or 0.41 points to end at 44.27 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) shed 0.89% or 0.45 points to 49.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 42 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.11% or 1.35 to $1257.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.41% or 0.76 to hit $53.29 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.69 to trade at $55.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0621, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8543.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.86.
