Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.29% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.97% or 195.60 points to trade at 6776.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.07% or 0.14 points to end at 6.90 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.11% or 0.79 points to 71.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 4.77% or 3.87 points to trade at 77.18 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 3.17% or 0.48 points to end at 14.65 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was down 2.55% or 7.85 points to 300.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 370 to 164 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.55% or 7.85 to 300.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.27% or 1.19 to $51.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.85% or 0.48 to hit $56.37 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.40 to trade at $1162.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.69% to 4.2373, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.8228.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 96.31.
