Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA), which fell 0.22% or 0.0010 points to trade at 0.4490 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) fell 0.99% or 0.1300 points to end at 12.9400 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 1.02% or 0.0660 points to 6.4290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 4.41% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.0325 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 3.86% or 0.4010 points to end at 9.9990 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 3.44% or 0.3750 points to 10.5150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 42 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 3.83% or 1.33 to $33.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.49% or 1.50 to hit $31.89 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.20% or 14.50 to trade at $1224.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.7860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 97.43.
