Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which rose 6.33% or 2.6 points to trade at 44.4 at the close. Meanwhile, Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) added 4.82% or 2.75 points to end at 59.80 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was up 4.23% or 0.36 points to 8.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which fell 2.65% or 0.40 points to trade at 14.70 at the close. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OL:RCLo) declined 1.69% or 14.0 points to end at 812.0 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was down 1.65% or 0.2 points to 11.9.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 94 to 84 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.30% or 0.53 to $40.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.31% or 0.14 to hit $43.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1067.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.32% to 9.2728, while USD/NOK rose 0.42% to 8.7232.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 99.87.
