Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Travel and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 3.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which rose 8.75% or 0.21 points to trade at 2.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 8.33% or 0.021 points to end at 0.273 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 8.13% or 0.13 points to 1.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 7.31% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.43 at the close. Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) declined 4.03% or 0.006 points to end at 0.143 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was down 4.00% or 0.95 points to 22.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 32 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 2.40% or 25.80 to $1051.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.08% or 0.74 to hit $34.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.24 to trade at $37.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.0818, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.7276.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 99.23.
