Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Support Services, Consumer Goods and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which rose 1.81% or 0.15 points to trade at 8.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) added 0.99% or 0.69 points to end at 70.11 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) was up 0.23% or 0.11 points to 47.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AMS:RAND), which fell 3.50% or 2.25 points to trade at 62.10 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) declined 2.40% or 0.740 points to end at 30.070 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was down 1.78% or 0.73 points to 40.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 156 to 58 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.92% to 16.02.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.52% or 0.26 to $50.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1104.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.04% to 1.0937, while EUR/GBP rose 1.08% to 0.7031.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.76% at 97.44.
