Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 2.21% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP), which rose 0.38% or 0.85 points to trade at 225.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AMS:RELN) added 0.07% or 0.010 points to end at 13.950 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was down 0.12% or 0.009 points to 7.227 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 8.87% or 0.71 points to trade at 7.29 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) declined 8.39% or 2.120 points to end at 23.150 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was down 3.79% or 2.75 points to 69.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 149 to 21 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to all time lows; losing 8.87% or 0.71 to 7.29. Shares in OCI (AMS:OCI) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.39% or 2.120 to 23.150.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 8.43% to 32.41.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.67% or 0.30 to $44.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.45 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.83% or 20.70 to trade at $1152.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1238, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.7370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 96.02.
