Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Materials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 1.25% or 3.05 points to trade at 246.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.67% or 0.22 points to end at 32.92 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 0.57% or 0.34 points to 60.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 2.33% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.66 at the close. DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) declined 2.04% or 0.98 points to end at 47.17 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was down 1.97% or 0.41 points to 20.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 101 to 78 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.67% or 0.22 to 32.92.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.56% to 22.74.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.29% or 0.12 to $41.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.50% or 0.23 to hit $44.38 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.08% or 0.80 to trade at $1064.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.7044.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 99.94.
