Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Gas, Water & Multiutilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SZSE Component index gained 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Danhua Chem (SS:600844), which rose 10.07% or 0.680 points to trade at 7.430 at the close. Meanwhile, Tianjin Quanye (SS:600821) added 10.07% or 0.750 points to end at 8.200 and Guodian Nj (SS:600268) was up 10.04% or 0.910 points to 9.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lotus Gourmet (SS:600186), which fell 10.04% or 0.850 points to trade at 7.620 at the close. Zhongyuan Unio (SS:600645) declined 10.00% or 7.140 points to end at 64.270 and Zhongzhu Holdi (SS:600568) was down 10.00% or 2.170 points to 19.520.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area Co Ltd (SZ:000652) which rose 10.08% to 6.99, Shenzhen Kaifa Technology Co Ltd (SZ:000021) which was up 10.05% to settle at 9.75 and Rongxin Power Electronic Co Ltd (SZ:002123) which gained 10.04% to close at 13.81.
The worst performers were Zhejiang Jingsheng Mech Electric (SZ:300316) which was down 10.01% to 16.99 in late trade, Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) which lost 3.17% to settle at 28.45 and Sichuan Jinlu Group Co Ltd (SZ:000510) which was down 2.71% to 7.54 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 666 to 278.
Shares in Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.17% or 0.93 to 28.45.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 3.93% to 32.77 a new 1-month low.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.61% or 7.10 to $1157.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.17% or 0.55 to hit $47.65 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.54 to trade at $50.79 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.18% to 6.3342, while EUR/CNY rose 0.45% to 7.2162.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.64.
