Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.41% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 4.98% or 0.4720 points to trade at 9.9500 at the close. Meanwhile, Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell 1.00% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.5000 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 2.21% or 0.0710 points to 3.1400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which fell 6.31% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.2970 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 5.77% or 0.0970 points to end at 1.5830 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 5.35% or 0.6950 points to 12.3050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 43 to 4 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.31% or 0.0200 to 0.2970. Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.77% or 0.0970 to 1.5830.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.97% or 0.59 to $30.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.72% or 0.83 to hit $31.31 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.86% or 9.30 to trade at $1077.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.0858, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7540.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 99.20.
