Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.34% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which rose 2.40% or 0.35 points to trade at 14.96 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) added 1.43% or 0.45 points to end at 31.94 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 1.25% or 0.130 points to 10.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 1.70% or 0.1650 points to trade at 9.5250 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 1.22% or 0.08 points to end at 6.46 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) shed 1.17% or 0.58 points to 48.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 58 and 24 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.02% or 1.14 to $55.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.02% or 1.09 to hit $52.74 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.34% or 16.75 to trade at $1233.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0509, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8570.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 102.15.
