Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 3.08%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 8.25% or 0.82 points to trade at 10.82 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 5.55% or 0.19 points to end at 3.56 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 5.12% or 3.98 points to 81.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 0.12% or 0.01 points to trade at 4.15 at the close. TNT Express (AS:TNTE) added 0.21% or 0.016 points to end at 7.717 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 0.57% or 0.30 points to 53.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 134 to 36 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) rose to all time lows; rising 0.12% or 0.01 to 4.15.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.30% to 26.90.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 3.97% or 1.44 to $37.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 3.66% or 1.40 to hit $39.55 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.16% or 1.70 to trade at $1065.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.0912, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 98.29.
