Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Construction & Materials and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 2.43%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep (AMS:ING), which rose 3.87% or 0.565 points to trade at 15.175 at the close. Meanwhile, Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) added 3.62% or 2.33 points to end at 66.73 and KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) was up 3.45% or 0.114 points to 3.415 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which rose 0.25% or 0.019 points to trade at 7.691 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) added 0.67% or 0.17 points to end at 25.39 and OCI (AMS:OCI) was up 0.96% or 0.245 points to 25.765.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 192 to 24 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 12.32% to 24.24.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.21% or 0.11 to $52.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $58.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1160.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.58% at 96.11.
