Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 3.77% or 0.515 points to trade at 14.170 at the close. Aperam (AS:APAM) added 3.18% or 1.42 points to end at 46.03 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 2.23% or 0.67 points to 30.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sofina (BR:SOF), which lost 0.69% or 0.90 points to trade at 128.60 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.60% or 0.17 points to end at 29.02 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 0.59% or 0.65 points to 109.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.78% or 10.10 to $1284.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.62% or 0.85 to hit $51.56 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 0.95 to trade at $53.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.0713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8376.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 99.69.
