Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Consumer Services and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.34%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 6.10% or 0.23 points to trade at 3.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 2.02% or 1.23 points to end at 62.09 and Alcatel Lucent SA (PA:ALUA) was up 1.69% or 0.061 points to 3.668 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PA:TECF), which fell 4.64% or 2.10 points to trade at 43.29 at the close. Accor SA (PA:ACCP) declined 0.92% or 0.36 points to end at 38.60 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 0.91% or 0.37 points to 40.16.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Numericable Pr (PA:NUME) which rose 12.23% to 37.200, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was up 6.10% to settle at 3.95 and Neopost (PA:NPOS) which gained 4.01% to close at 22.31.
The worst performers were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 6.15% to 7.060 in late trade, Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which lost 5.62% to settle at 57.61 and Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 4.64% to 43.29 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 421 to 304 and 56 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.30% to 25.67.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.41% or 4.40 to $1079.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.52% or 0.56 to hit $36.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.00% or 0.74 to trade at $36.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0738, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.7327.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 99.53.
