Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Transport sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.62%, while the ADX General index added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 10.09% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 2.75% or 0.03 points to end at 1.12 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 2.44% or 0.030 points to 1.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 2.91% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.000 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 2.79% or 0.050 points to end at 1.740 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) shed 2.60% or 0.040 points to 1.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which rose 11.71% to 1.240, Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was up 1.62% to settle at 18.80 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.61% to close at 0.630.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.47% to 1.53 in late trade, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which lost 3.70% to settle at 2.080 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 2.56% to 0.760 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 16 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 6 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.23% or 0.55 to $44.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.70% or 0.79 to hit $45.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1305.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.23% to 4.0908.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 96.94.
