Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 11.82% or 2.5 points to trade at 23.6 at the close. Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 8.65% or 3.05 points to end at 38.29 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) was up 5.65% or 7.40 points to 138.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which lost 2.11% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.93 in late trade. Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) declined 1.66% or 2.3 points to end at 136.2 and Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) shed 1.54% or 2.70 points to 172.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 87 and 19 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 8.58% or 3.88 to $49.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 8.83% or 4.18 to hit $51.50 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.33% or 15.80 to trade at $1175.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.71% to 9.0230, while USD/NOK fell 0.09% to 8.5281.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 101.70.
