Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) added 1.64% or 0.010 points to end at 0.610 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) was up 1.54% or 0.010 points to 0.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES), which fell 3.08% or 0.70 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 2.80% or 0.060 points to end at 2.080 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) was down 2.35% or 0.55 points to 22.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 217 to 167 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.60% or 6.70 to $1131.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.46% or 1.14 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 0.67 to trade at $48.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 3.0345, while EUR/TRY rose 0.62% to 3.3883.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 96.45.
