Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Banking and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 11.07% or 3.14 points to trade at 31.50 at the close. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) added 7.64% or 0.310 points to end at 4.370 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was up 6.73% or 1.96 points to 31.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 5.00% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.520 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.37% or 0.060 points to end at 1.720 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 2.40% or 0.040 points to 1.630.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 222 to 111 and 73 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.45% or 6.05 to $1324.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.10% or 0.49 to hit $45.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 0.67 to trade at $47.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.46% to 2.9884, while EUR/TRY rose 0.28% to 3.3470.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 95.56.
