Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Auto & components, Software & Computer Services and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA), which rose 4.24% or 2.65 points to trade at 65.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) added 3.58% or 1.9 points to end at 55.0 and Yara International ASA (OSLO:YAR) was up 2.94% or 11.6 points to 406.7 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which fell 5.80% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.53 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) declined 1.37% or 0.40 points to end at 28.80 and Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) was down 1.25% or 1.0 points to 79.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 124 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.65% or 1.37 to $53.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.43% or 1.96 to hit $59.01 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1161.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 1.49% to 8.9735, while USD/NOK fell 1.06% to 8.1400.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 96.74.
