Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.49% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.3700 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPRu) added 2.19% or 0.1420 points to end at 6.6370 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.00% or 0.0005 points to 0.0506 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 4.17% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0023 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) declined 3.19% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.3940 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 1.75% or 0.0200 points to 1.1250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 24 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.00% or 0.46 to $45.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.63% or 1.13 to hit $41.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.29% or 13.80 to trade at $1056.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0595, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.7048.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 100.11.
