Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Basic Metals and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aksa (IS:AKSA), which rose 7.93% or 0.72 points to trade at 9.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 7.86% or 0.29 points to end at 3.98 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was up 5.93% or 0.080 points to 1.430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which fell 5.87% or 0.370 points to trade at 5.930 at the close. Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) declined 3.57% or 0.070 points to end at 1.890 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) was down 2.71% or 0.290 points to 10.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 194 to 141 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) rose to 3-years highs; up 7.86% or 0.29 to 3.98. Shares in Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.57% or 0.070 to 1.890.
Gold for April delivery was down 2.28% or 28.20 to $1211.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.44% or 0.13 to hit $29.31 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.01% or 0.67 to trade at $32.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.78% to 2.9697, while EUR/TRY rose 0.66% to 3.3084.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.90.
