Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Information Technology and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.94%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA), which rose 10.81% or 0.240 points to trade at 2.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) added 2.42% or 0.040 points to end at 1.690 and Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) was up 0.94% or 0.45 points to 48.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which fell 7.24% or 0.80 points to trade at 10.25 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 6.61% or 0.750 points to end at 10.600 and Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) was down 6.34% or 0.36 points to 5.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 348 to 45 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) rose to all time highs; up 2.42% or 0.040 to 1.690.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.42% or 15.70 to $1123.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.12% or 0.05 to hit $43.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $49.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.35% to 2.7700, while EUR/TRY rose 1.11% to 3.1043.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.25% at 96.02.
