Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 6.35% or 64.00 points to trade at 1072.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC) added 6.32% or 2.900 points to end at 48.800 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO) was up 3.45% or 41 points to 1231 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which fell 1.72% or 45.0 points to trade at 2566.0 at the close. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) declined 1.40% or 180.0 points to end at 12710.0 and Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) was down 1.07% or 1.75 points to 162.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 102 to 97 and 24 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.52% to 44.620.
Gold for April delivery was down 2.31% or 28.60 to $1210.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.09% or 0.32 to hit $29.12 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.04% or 1.01 to trade at $32.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.06% to 77.7951, while EUR/RUB rose 1.09% to 86.784.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.84.
