Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 5.75% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.600 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 2.96% or 2.670 points to end at 92.900 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 2.67% or 1.060 points to 40.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 3.19% or 6.960 points to trade at 211.050 in late trade. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 2.99% or 0.400 points to end at 12.960 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) shed 2.76% or 2.700 points to 95.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.65% or 8.20 to $1254.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.58% or 1.67 to hit $38.17 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.00% or 1.19 to trade at $40.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.97% to 17.7522, while EUR/MXN fell 1.02% to 19.5389.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.14.
