Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.33% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.96% or 0.28 points to trade at 29.07 at the close. Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 0.87% or 0.83 points to end at 96.15 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.87% or 1.00 points to 116.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 2.43% or 0.59 points to trade at 23.73 in late trade. Elia (BR:ELI) declined 1.43% or 0.655 points to end at 45.205 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.50% or 0.260 points to 51.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 88 to 53 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.76% or 9.20 to $1207.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.36 to trade at $50.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7610.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
