Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO), which rose 3.39% or 3.150 points to trade at 96.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 3.70% or 1.400 points to end at 39.250 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 3.08% or 1.780 points to 59.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 4.85% or 8.360 points to trade at 163.920 at the close. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) declined 3.47% or 0.110 points to end at 3.060 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 3.06% or 2.200 points to 69.750.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 86 to 68 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.85% or 8.360 to 163.920. Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to all time lows; down 3.47% or 0.110 to 3.060.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.56% or 6.10 to $1090.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.66% or 0.83 to hit $30.57 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.40% or 0.77 to trade at $31.11 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 17.8667, while EUR/MXN fell 0.21% to 19.3800.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 99.06.
