Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.10% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 2.67% or 0.0270 points to trade at 1.0390 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.67% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.2440 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.18% or 0.0370 points to 3.1830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 1.72% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.457 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.47% or 0.0940 points to end at 6.2840 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.11% or 0.0002 points to 0.0178.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.12% or 1.00 to $46.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.36% or 1.06 to hit $43.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1325.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1260, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8534.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 95.30.
