Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.91% or 0.196 points to trade at 5.211 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 3.06% or 0.405 points to end at 13.655 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 2.69% or 0.87 points to 33.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 2.17% or 0.167 points to trade at 7.533 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 1.07% or 0.029 points to end at 2.683 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) shed 0.86% or 0.37 points to 42.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 41 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.50% to 14.47.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $53.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $55.38 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.30% or 15.75 to trade at $1195.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.0727, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8511.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 100.14.
