Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 2.92% or 1.82 points to trade at 64.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 1.39% or 0.31 points to end at 22.69 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was up 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 5.45% or 292.85 points to trade at 5077.15 at the close. ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) declined 3.96% or 4.75 points to end at 115.05 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 3.05% or 0.40 points to 12.72.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 212 to 176 and 101 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 4.07% or 1.34 to $31.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 4.14% or 1.42 to hit $32.86 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.51% or 6.20 to trade at $1232.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.51% to 4.3725, while USD/PLN fell 0.69% to 3.9297.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 96.69.
