Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.66% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which rose 1.83% or 0.56 points to trade at 31.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AS:RAND) added 1.56% or 0.89 points to end at 58.12 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.30% or 0.19 points to 63.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.74% or 0.27 points to trade at 5.39 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.20% or 0.41 points to end at 12.41 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 2.36% or 0.10 points to 3.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 127 to 53 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; falling 4.74% or 0.27 to 5.39. Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.20% or 0.41 to 12.41. Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.36% or 0.10 to 3.97.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.47% to 22.36.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.63% or 1.08 to $40.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.52% or 0.67 to hit $43.17 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 2.18% or 23.10 to trade at $1084.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.90% to 1.0844, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7186.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.77% at 98.57.
