Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.50% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 2.19% or 0.64 points to trade at 29.91 at the close. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 2.17% or 0.77 points to end at 36.24 and TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V) was up 1.88% or 0.082 points to 4.436 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which lost 12.01% or 1.53 points to trade at 11.21 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) declined 3.00% or 0.47 points to end at 15.22 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 1.64% or 0.125 points to 7.510.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 73 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 5.15% or 1.95 to $39.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 5.07% or 1.82 to hit $37.71 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.33% or 4.00 to trade at $1225.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1425, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8070.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 94.32.
