Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Construction and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 2.81% or 0.14 points to trade at 5.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) added 2.64% or 3.72 points to end at 144.85 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.02% or 0.43 points to 21.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 7.58% or 0.86 points to trade at 10.49 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) declined 4.77% or 2.95 points to end at 58.94 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 2.06% or 0.29 points to 13.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 302 to 186 and 169 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.92% or 0.57 to $29.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 3.53% or 1.16 to hit $31.72 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1195.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.02% to 4.4440, while USD/PLN fell 1.06% to 3.9286.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.92% at 95.86.
