Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Palm Oil and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 13.03% or 6.80 points to trade at 59.00 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 11.11% or 34.00 points to end at 340.00 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was up 10.80% or 135.00 points to 1385.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB), which lost 11.33% or 16.00 points to trade at 125.20 in late trade. Namal Acuity (CM:NAMA) declined 7.50% or 6.90 points to end at 85.10 and Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) shed 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 73 and 63 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.69% or 0.35 to $50.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.49% or 0.25 to hit $51.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.35 to trade at $1269.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 179.995, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 147.225.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 98.75.
