Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.57% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 2.15% or 0.28 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 1.66% or 1.75 points to end at 107.10 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 1.06% or 0.48 points to 45.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 0.29% or 0.14 points to trade at 45.87 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.15% or 0.20 points to end at 129.90 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.15% or 0.04 points to 29.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1245.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $50.42 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.16 to trade at $53.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0694, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8532.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.19.
