Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which rose 1.37% or 1.000 points to trade at 73.800 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 0.92% or 0.700 points to end at 77.000 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was up 0.69% or 0.100 points to 14.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which lost 1.85% or 27.00 points to trade at 1430.00 in late trade. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) declined 1.09% or 0.100 points to end at 9.100 and Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) shed 0.95% or 2.00 points to 208.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 84 and 48 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.34% or 4.25 to $1234.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.71% or 0.38 to hit $54.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.31 to trade at $56.49 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.12% to 7.3105, while USD/PHP rose 0.18% to 50.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 101.33.
