Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.03% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.09% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.3900 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.49% or 0.0780 points to end at 5.3210 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.46% or 0.0120 points to 2.6480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 3.37% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.430 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.16% or 0.0190 points to end at 1.6230 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.96% or 0.0080 points to 0.8260.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.16% or 0.09 to $55.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $53.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.55 to trade at $1239.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.0655, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8542.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 100.60.
