Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 2.08% or 1.48 points to trade at 72.77 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.92% or 1.180 points to end at 62.750 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 1.55% or 3.30 points to 215.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 1.70% or 0.35 points to trade at 20.22 in late trade. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) declined 0.72% or 0.20 points to end at 27.03 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.56% or 0.12 points to 22.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 88 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.25% to 15.06.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.98% or 1.05 to $51.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.58% or 0.88 to hit $54.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.15 to trade at $1236.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0696, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 100.24.
