Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 1.85% or 0.345 points to trade at 18.985 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.10% or 0.420 points to end at 38.620 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was up 0.44% or 0.090 points to 20.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.86% or 0.325 points to trade at 11.055 in late trade. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 2.04% or 0.149 points to end at 7.157 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.94% or 0.340 points to 17.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 58 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.24% or 2.70 to $1130.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.07% or 0.56 to hit $53.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.63 to trade at $55.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0445, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 103.00.
