Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.84% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0181 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.11% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.1820 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.33% or 0.0100 points to 3.0100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 3.65% or 0.302 points to trade at 7.968 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 2.46% or 0.1700 points to end at 6.7350 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 1.26% or 0.0080 points to 0.6250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 19 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.36% or 0.67 to $49.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.10% or 0.52 to hit $47.93 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1343.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8576.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.44.
