Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 4.92% or 0.0038 points to trade at 0.0822 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) added 4.54% or 30.90 points to end at 711.00 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 3.22% or 0.680 points to 21.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which lost 3.47% or 0.0940 points to trade at 2.6160 in late trade. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 2.44% or 0.0018 points to end at 0.0735 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) shed 1.71% or 12.00 points to 689.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 91 and 16 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.61% to 34.630.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.26% or 3.20 to $1247.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.21 to hit $41.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.09 to trade at $41.63 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.77% to 67.3123, while EUR/RUB fell 0.97% to 75.513.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.67.
