Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.36% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel (IS:VESTL), which rose 7.98% or 0.410 points to trade at 5.550 at the close. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) added 5.46% or 0.290 points to end at 5.600 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 4.67% or 0.050 points to 1.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which lost 8.21% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.230 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 8.15% or 0.110 points to end at 1.240 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 8.13% or 1.46 points to 16.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 131 and 83 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.59% or 7.40 to $1255.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.14% or 1.51 to hit $38.01 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.23% or 1.28 to trade at $40.93 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.90% to 2.8874, while EUR/TRY fell 0.85% to 3.1831.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 97.01.
