Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Travel & Leisure and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which rose 3.17% or 1.55 points to trade at 50.40 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 3.14% or 0.45 points to end at 14.76 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was up 3.03% or 1.11 points to 37.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 14.77% or 0.0629 points to trade at 0.3629 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 4.45% or 0.3100 points to end at 6.6600 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) shed 3.64% or 0.4000 points to 10.5800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 242 to 168 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 3.35% or 1.27 to $36.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.57% or 1.05 to hit $39.79 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1265.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.7745.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.10.
