Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 2.72% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 2.42% or 0.0580 points to trade at 2.4500 at the close. Meanwhile, Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 1.90% or 0.65 points to end at 34.94 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 1.46% or 0.046 points to 3.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which fell 9.21% or 1.55 points to trade at 15.28 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) declined 8.15% or 0.665 points to end at 7.495 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was down 4.45% or 1.42 points to 30.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 156 to 32 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.57% or 0.47 to $30.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.62% or 0.80 to hit $31.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.89% or 9.70 to trade at $1077.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0866, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 99.14.
